CONTEXT: "My Disney Vacation" is an online tool via Disneyworld.com to help guests plan and manage various aspects of their vacation. It serves as a central hub for organizing reservations, itineraries, and real-time park information.
PROBLEM STATEMENT: The current My Disney Vacation area of the website presents challenges in usability, navigation, and information clarity, making it difficult for users to efficiently plan, view, and manage their Disney vacation details.
RESEARCH: This began with an analysis of the current experience, conducting a heuristic evaluation as well as a quantitative review of analytics. Next, there were interviews with park Guests to better understand user expectations and pain points in the current experience. Also, multiple rounds of user testing (paper prototypes and interactive, clickable prototypes) were conducted throughout the process.
MY ROLE: As the lead UX designer, I led the end-to-end UX process—starting with user research and continuing through defining UX requirements, crafting use cases, developing process flows and annotated wireframes, and culminating in user testing and user acceptance testing. I also worked closely with junior designers, providing oversight and mentorship to ensure design consistency, support skill development, and maintain high-quality deliverables.
