CONTEXT: The Microsoft Store Point of Sale (POS) is the technology used at Microsoft retail stores to facilitate customer transactions and promote products effectively.

PROBLEM STATEMENT: Microsoft Stores’ current point-of-sale (POS) displays are outdated, leading to inefficient transactions, limited product visibility, and a lack of engagement with customers during the purchasing process. The design does not fully leverage modern technologies to provide a seamless, informative, and visually appealing checkout experience.

RESEARCH: Conducted a series of UX research techniques to better understand the needs, goals and expectations of the user. This includes: Card sorting, stakeholder interviews, user interviews, contextual inquiry as well as end-to-end user testing.

MY ROLE: As the lead user experience designer, I was responsible for the overall UX experience. This involved everything from UX research to final UX deliverables. Deliverables included: Use cases, process flows, wirerfames and interaction specifications.
